There will be a two man rope and sort, a four man calf branding a three man sorting and a working cow dog class. There will also be a businessman’s calf branding to encourage some friendly competition in the community. “This will be a fun way to celebrate the Cowboy as well as educating the public on real ranching work,” says Mary Guardiola CEO of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free so the community is invited to watch the competition as it’s sure to be entertaining. There will be a BBQ starting at 11am for $10 per plate.
Anyone interested in entering any of the events may call the Oakdale Cowboy Museum for more information at 209 847-7049.
