Cowboy Capital of the World Announces Rancher’s Day in Celebration of the 6th Annual National Day of the American Cowboy

Oakdale, California, The Cowboy Capital of the World will be celebrating the 6th Annual National Day of the American Cowboy on July 24, by hosting a “Rancher’s Day” at the Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo Grounds, starting at 9am.
It’s only fitting that on this special day of recognizing the Cowboy that his ranching work be honored by holding a competition between local area ranchers. There will be a two man rope and sort, a four man calf branding a three man sorting and a working cow dog class. There will also be a businessman’s calf branding to encourage some friendly competition in the community. “This will be a fun way to celebrate the Cowboy as well as educating the public on real ranching work,” says Mary Guardiola CEO of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free so the community is invited to watch the competition as it’s sure to be entertaining. There will be a BBQ starting at 11am for $10 per plate.
Anyone interested in entering any of the events may call the Oakdale Cowboy Museum for more information at 209 847-7049.
